Kids Dental Brands is committed to providing the best possible dental care to our patients. Our founder Dr. Roberts realized early on that the best way to train new dentists at Kids Dental Brands was to help them with the transition from dental school to treating patients and working in a dental office.
When we looked around the industry, we noticed a lot of quality new dentists were struggling with their adjustment. This was often due to a few common factors.
- Being thrown into a full schedule right on day one
- Lack of guidance and training
- Aggressive production goals
- A feeling of isolation
- No post evaluation of their clinical work
As a result, Kids Dental Brands developed a formal mentorship program called the KDB Mentor 1 Program for our new doctors. The program provides support along the entire career of a dentist from even before you step in to an office for the first time, all the way through ownership of a KDB office.
The program is broken down into 7 Steps:
- Pre-Employment
- Onboarding
- Orientation
- Limited/Partial Schedule
- Offsite Training at the KDB Sim Lab
- Schedule as Appropriate
- Management/Ownership as the Ultimate Goal
When a new doctor joins KDB they are assigned a senior mentor doctor that is dedicated to helping guide them through each steps with continuous feedback and support.
